The Tikka T3 is a series of bolt-action rifles manufactured by Sako under their Tikka brand in Finland. The series is available in a wide variety of different sight, calibre and stock configurations as well as several barrel lengths. The rifle series was developed by Sako product development team led by Kari Kuparinen.
Tikka is a product of Sako’s world-renowned firearm engineering. Its history proves that Tikka has stood the test of time and continuously grown in popularity over the years. It has become the ultimate tool for accuracy on the market.
In 2016, the series received an overhaul and the improved models were named Tikka T3x. All improved parts of the T3x are backward compatible with the older T3 models

Engineer Stenij purchased an area of land in Jyväskylä rural cummune from Uno Mechelin, owner of Tikkamannila estate
1910
Jyväskylä businessmen took control of the company
1920
Machines and equipment necessary for the manufacture of gun barrels acquired
1930
Name of the factory became Tikkakoski Oy
1933-1944
Manufacture of ammunition for medium caliber as well as manufacture and service of war equipment
1953
Manufacture of guns came to an end and the factory concentrated on the production of sewing machines
1963
Manufacture of studs for car tyres started
1965
Manufacture of the Tikka hammer shotgun rifle commenced
1967
Osuuspankkien Keskusosuuspankki (OKO) – the Central Bank of the Co-operative Banks of Finland – became the company’s largest shareholder. M76 Tikka rifle manufactured. Production of sewing machines stopped
